I made a macabre theatre mask out of paper mache.

First I blew up a balloon to slightly larger than my head size. I marked on the balloon there the eyes and mount will be. Then I soaked strips of newspaper in a weak solution of water and PVA (rather than the traditional flour). I layed the strips over the balloon to make up the face. I made only 3 layers and then added a pointy nose. Finally I coated it all with the PVA mixture and left to dry.

Once dry I popped the balloon and gave it a couple of coats of white spray paint. Finally I added an elastic head strap.

The result is a very light and rigit mask that's good for scaring people!
